I’ve been in the independent music business for 25 years. My first job was at the Brighton based Tru Thoughts Records. We released some classic material including debuts by Bonobo, Alice Russel & Quantic. After a break travelling I helped set up Resident Records and went on to run my own record shop. As the World moved on from vinyl I returned to Tru Thoughts as Distribution & Marketing Manager and oversaw projects by Quantic, Alice Russell and The Hot 8 Brass Band. After several more years at the label I moved and became a Label Manager at Kartel Music Group in London. I worked with such amazing labels as World Circuit, Soundway Records, Mr Bongo & Brownwood and worked on projects such as Protejé, Buena Vista Social Club, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Ibibio Sound Machine. For the last 7 years I have been GM for IDOL in the UK. Still fiercely independent, we have released music from Jane Weaver, Afro B, Nils Frahm, Four Tet, Fred again.., Hania Rani, Kiasmos, DJ Zinc, I. Jordan and many more great artists and labels.
